Madrid, Jan 27 (EFE).- Jannik Sinner has solidified his position as the leader of the ATP rankings after winning the Australian Open, while Russia’s Daniil Medvedev has suffered a significant drop—the largest—falling two places in the rankings to seventh position and losing 1,250 points.
Meanwhile, ’s Alexander Zverev managed to hold onto the second spot in the rankings despite being defeated by Sinner in the Australian Open final, adding 500 points to reach a total of 8,135.
Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz has maintained his third-place ranking after losing in the quarterfinals to Djokovic, who, despite withdrawing from the semifinal against Zverev due to injury, moved up one spot to sixth place in the rankings.

Norwegian tennis player Casper Ruud has climbed one position, securing fifth place and entering the top 5, ahead of Novak Djokovic and Tommy Paul, who rose two spots to ninth place.
American Taylor Fritz, on the other hand, has held onto fourth place in the rankings despite losing 300 points. EFE
