‘El 47’ and ‘La infiltrada’ tly win best film at 39th Goya Awards

Granada, Spain, Feb 9 (EFE).- “El 47” (The 47) directed by Marcel Barrena and “La infiltrada” (Undercover) by Arantxa Echevarría, tied for Best Film at the 39th edition of the Goya Awards of the Spanish Film Academy.

This marked the first time in the history of the Goya Awards that the best film was shared between two movies.

El 47 revolves around Manuel Vidal, a bus driver and trade unionist who, in Barcelona in the 1970s, fought to bring public transport to the Torre Baró neighbourhood.

El 47, directed by Marcel Barrena, also took the Goya for Best ing Actor and ing Actress, for Salva Reina and Clara Segura, respectively, besides the prizes for Best Production Design and Best Special Effects.

Carolina Yuste took home the Best Actress award for La infiltrada, the film based on the true story of a police officer who deceived the terrorist group ETA.

“Segundo Premio” (Saturn Return) by Isaki Lacuesta and Pol Rodríguez, won Best direction, Best Sound and Best Editing.

Pedro Almodovar’s “La Habitación de al lado” (The Room Next Door) won Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Original Music and Best Cinematography..

Paula Ortiz’s “’La virgen roja” (The Red Virgin) won Best Art Direction and Best Costume Design, while “La guitarra flamenca de Yerai Cortés” (The Flamenco Guitar of Yerai Cortés)

won Best Documentary and Best Original Song for “Los almendros.”

The Goya for Best Actor went to Eduard Fernandez for “Marco,” which also won the award for Best Makeup and Hair, and the Best Original Screenplay went to “Casa en Llamas” (House on Fire) directed by Dani de la Orden. EFE
