BLACKPINK to release first single in nearly 3 years

Tokyo, May 26 (EFE).- South Korean K-pop group BLACKPINK will return with their first single in two years and eight months, after announcing their 2025 world tour, which will kick off on July 5 and 6 with two concerts at Goyang Stadium in Seoul.

“We will be able to announce news about BlackPink’s new song soon,” said Yang Hyun-suk, founder and executive producer of YG Entertainment, in a video posted on the company’s YouTube channel.

The official release date is currently unknown, and it will be the first album following their second full-length album, “Born Pink,” released in September 2022, with the sole exception of “The Girls,” an original soundtrack for a video game released in 2023.

On their new world tour announced a few months ago, the South Korean quartet will perform a total of 18 shows in 10 cities around the world, including New York, Toronto, Paris, Barcelona, and London, before concluding in January 2026 in Tokyo.

Three months ago, they added five additional shows to the ‘Deadline’ tour in cities across North America and Europe.

All of the BLACKPINK quartet – Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa -have already made their solo debuts, after releasing two albums together: “The Album” (2020) and “Born Pink” (2022), and participating in three world tours.

BLACKPINK is the most-followed international music group on YouTube, with nearly 95 million subscribers. EFE
